The "CONCLAVE" is a ceremony in which cardinals vote for a new Pope.
Two thirds of the total vote must be taken to become the new Pope. During the Conclave, cardinals locked the gates of the cathedral until the vote was completed.
It won't let anyone get out.
The etymology of Conclave comes from the meaning of
